WASHINGTON, DC –  The Congressional Women’s Softball Game (CWSG) organizing committee announced today that this year’s event has already raised over $300,000 through corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and ticket sales. The game will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 7:00 PM at the Watkins Recreation Center on Capitol Hill.

Now in its tenth year, the CWSG benefits the Young Survival Coalition (YSC), the premier organization dedicated to helping young breast cancer patients. To date, the annual event has raised over $1.4 million dollars for women under 40 facing a breast cancer diagnosis.

“The players are united in the belief that no woman should have to face breast cancer alone,” said CWSG President and Treasurer Atalie Ebersole. “This disease touches the lives of thousands of young women, which is why the work of YSC is so vital. We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and attendees, many of whom have supported the game for years.”

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online prior to the game or at the gate. To learn more or to donate, please visit www.congwomensoftball.org.

This year’s first pitch will be shared by four talented women: Mindy Cohn of Facts of Life, Megan Cavanagh of League of their Own, Principal of Watkins and Peabody Elementary Schools Elena Bell on behalf of General Motors, and Mylan’s Tara Bielski.
